I mess around with theology a lot. You could say this symbolism is meaningless. The purpose is that religion is written into our being. So many myths and religious stories are similar. Atheists, too, worship something and have their own rituals. We can't escape it! It's built into us!

if you like biblical history, apocrypha and Gnosticism...this game is all over it.
