Which map?

experience.arcgis.com/experience/8... is official, should be up-to-date, but AFAIK doesn't contain "planned", or these new WIP Summit lanes

map.bikejc.org is a mirror of a few layers from the city's map, plus Ward boundaries, that I update on a "best effort" basis… will refresh soon

Good bike infra begets better bike culture. Licensing etc does the opposite, and is primarily pushed by people who want to criminalize and reduce biking. It's bad policy.

Meanwhile, licensed/insured drivers killed more people since you started on about this yesterday than bikes have in a decade.

Drivers injure 150 people in NYC each day (vs. 3 by cyclists, including ebikes)

Drivers kill 2 pedestrians in NYC each week (vs. 2 per year by bikes and ebikes)

8 years of "Climate Governor" Phil Murphy:

❌ $24B for highway widenings
❌ 0 new trains and light rail lines
❌ 100-year low transit service
⚰️ 4,500+ people killed in car crashes

Please stop doing the worst possible things during historic transportation, environmental, and public health crisis.

I think the exact dock locations are TBD, the image is just to show approximate level of coverage.

He basically fell out with the groups over what to do about ebikes on sidewalks. The groups believe enforcement is an important component, but that safe infra is also necessary, and politically harder, so we usually focus there first (there are still 0 safe bike routes for most trips in HB/JC...)

I'd say (i): small $$ amount can go far, 10-20% more mode shift is possible, CB is best way to get it. Also fights car-destruction of the commons.

Citi Bike to date is like having added 10% of a new subway line, in 10% the time, for 1% the cost (vs e.g. 2nd Ave line). Better use of marginal $$ IMO!

CB should definitely receive public money (like every transpo network, esp cars).

re: $5 non-member ebike unlock, losing an ebike costs 1000x that. Not surprising to me they want to nudge ppl away from that model (primarily toward membership), or price in the risk

Agreed about CP but do you think city govt will do a better job running/expanding Citi Bike?

High non-member fees target tourists, and subsidize member fees. Residents should just become members

I didn't think an NJ rev-share had been worked out, do you have a source for that?
