While I agree with this sentiment, people who think like this don't have the specific kind of personality defects required to become super successful college football coaches
I have a lukewarm take.
If I somehow were a top 10 college football coach, I would go to a mid-tier P5 school and stay there forever. Why Kiffin has any desire to leave Ole Miss for for Florida or LSU is so beyond me. I can't even fathom it.

This might be an unpopular take ... but if I'm the ACC and Cal upsets SMU, I override the tiebreakers and put Miami in the ACC championship game against Virginia.

I think the main thing this tells us is executives do very little of what would be legible as "work" to employees

Here’s the thing: I would rather LSU pay less for a football coach moving up to get their shot, to build a program, to leave a legacy.
I fear that is not what my school is right now. Maybe we’ll learn eventually, but it doesn’t seem like we’re learning that this cycle.

If these events happened in a vacuum, sure. But the fact that two major publications exonerated her, then she got a book deal and a cushy job at a major outlet makes it inexorably a Journalism Story.

I need someone to put together a list of everyone who came to her defense, so I can make sure never to take anything they say seriously again
I hope that this doesn't just become about "Nuzzi is bad" but fosters a wider recognition that our culture of political journalism that didn't just tolerate her, but promoted and celebrated her even after the allegations were known, is rotten to the core and has been for a long time.
this was bad before, but these are the most troubling and serious allegations you can make about a journalist. if they’re true, i genuinely can’t think of a worse scandal in the history of political journalism. devastating to our industry, to public trust as a whole, and to everyone in its orbit
