Oh yeah no that wasn't directed at you, it was at those who advised that! I've seen this advice for shading, cuz using black to shade does have its place but it usually makes things look muddy. But I haven't heard the same for line art.

Extremely valid, the only thing that kept me from going Amano was that abstraction is impossible for me and I've never been good at gestural figures 🤣

That's a weird bit of advice considering illustrations with line art traditionally are solid black. Do whatever you like the look of.

Oh. I *DEFINITELY* did the Nomura eyes, and the clothing styles, and the line art style.....and then TWEWY happened and my art got pointier 🤣 those first games were a definitive time in my life...

I used to draw eyes like you did here for the record lol. For the longest time, I drew them like Rumiko Takahashi 😆
