Would we say that roast beef is really an alternative recipe for Bara Brith, BBC Good Food? Or would we instead say it's another recipe that also begins with B?

Oh Helen! What a palaver, hopefully it's not sore but uurgh

It sounds like she's trying or a mid 00s rap persona

Yes, or a lord? One of them. Still surreal, I was thinking, is this a new Posh thing she's trying?

(like, I'm not saying it's good or bad, I don't follow football and I think the whole system of peerage is antiquated, it's just a bit mad that people I remember from FHM and Smash Hits magazines are a grown up Lord and Lady)

Am reading a BBC article about a documentary about Victoria Beckham and they keep referring to Lady Beckham and I thought it was a bit. But no, they're actually a lord and lady because life is surreal.

I had read that, or apparently you can make some kind of release spray at home? I'll keep an open mind about bargains then. While trying to keep myself from buying the house and Christmas tree shaped moulds currently in John Lewis...

Funnily enough I already had the bundt one on my list but I don't have a bundt tin - I'm going to keep an eye out in the sales for a decent one, I worry a cheap one won't turn the cake out well! I'll have a look at the Jane's, thank you.

My mother in law has an amazing array of cookery books but they're very much still in use!

I have been looking for this!! Yes! I can only find ones with like main courses and such in in our local shops, clearly everyone is hanging onto it.
samanthalf.bsky.social
I will pop it on my list, thank you.

Does anyone have a baking cookery book they really love? I'm in the market for a new one, I'm getting very baky at the moment.

(I'm not fussy about the style, I buy all cookery books second hand so it's not a problem if it's a misstep, it'll just return to the charity shop from whence it came.)

I love my 2mms, I use 2 ply a lot and I can't be doing with saggy ribbing. Nice and tiny and toight.

Man in John Lewis has just looked at me slightly shocked and said "that's a very small needle isn't it" when I asked if he had any 2mm interchangeables.

I've seen smaller, mate. 2.75 isn't going to cut it here.

The mini salami sausage I was munching was!
samanthalf.bsky.social
Due to some confusion over what hand I was doing what with I just came perilously close to eating a darning needle

Yes yes yes! London, is it? How helpful! Oh wait you're in Canada.

I don't know if it works in Aberdeen but I find CityMapper is often great for that sort of thing.
samanthalf.bsky.social
Oh yes both for sure - I can use either where I am and this shop in particular would be very manageable on public transport from some places.

Funny you should mention that....
