The @noclipvideo.bsky.social documentaries are a great watch and seem really down to earth, though it's usually about smaller studios

you can do this in our game #indiegame

For those interested in knowing a little more about the game. I had a small chat with Karrus, he goes over some of the gameplay, inspirations and perfectly captures the vibe

Yes mostly alone I have someone helping me for the sound design and music. Level design is probably one of the hardest parts for me as it requires a lot of trial and error whilst I'm still learning

Modified the lighting and layout a bit, already better. For the concave vs convex problem, rim lighting could work though I'll have to see how much it impacts the aesthetics
saminton.bsky.social
All very valid points 🙏 I'll see what I can come up with

A lot of works from Simon Stålenhag have been a source of inspiration. The "Tales From The Loop" TV show based of his work also captures the vibe I'm going for.

Great feedback! I get your point, the overcast weather probably isn't helping here, I'll have to play around with the lighting see if it helps. Another solution might be to have an addition "fake" lighting on the rocks by adjusting the brightness based on the normal direction 🤔

I’d prefer to avoid the “yellow paint” when possible but for the tutorial I think it may be necessary ? 🤔

I have touch buttons on one that is NOT induction it's borderline dangerous, my cat can accidentally turn them on if he decides to sit on it. I physically cut the power to it when I leave the house in fear of the whole place burning down 🤦

I keep telling myself “I don’t need x feature”. Only to find it makes so much sense after I later decide to implement it. Anyways, there’s now a sprint button 😅

In the process of contacting artists to work on the steam capsules, last piece of the puzzle before the steam page goes up 😉

I think @heartmachine.bsky.social 's Hyperlight Drifter does a great job by having a pixel art animation, you already kinda know what to expect, before seeing any gameplay 🤷 (they also serve as cutscenes in the game)

I know this kind of game is hard to market with in-game footage alone, but (hot take) I always have a gripe with trailers that stray from the game's actual art style. I feel it creates a sense of false expectation, and then often feel underwhelmed when the gameplay footage finally shows up

I think it'll take a while for me to be impressed after the absolute monster of a trailer from @moonhood.bsky.social 's A Midnight Walk Trailer. Animation, style, music, everything hits way too hard

I get your point and I'd genuinely love to see the document. I wonder how they defined "theft", your argument is understandable with the definition (a) but for me piracy still fits the definition (b) 🤷
