🤣🤣🤣 Exactly! 👏👏👏

It’s a quick way to show language skills, but I am sure that many recruiters still value TOEFL/IELTS more. It can be used as a boost, but not as the only proof.

What do you think about this, #langsky? 😜

It's going well. I'm enjoying it a lot.

I normally start with Assimil, and after finishing 50% or more of it, I move on to podcasts.

My main hurdle is finding interesting content at my level.

How about you, Alex?

In this restaurant in Les Angles (France), "La carte" became "El mapa" in Catalan.

I am pretty sure Google Translate was the chef here. Lunch just turned into a road trip. 😜

I can't say how people in Sweden react, since I've never been there, but my language exchange tandem family and my Swedish-speaking neighbours are happy that I can speak it with them. 👍

I find Italian and Swedish beautiful and melodic and this feeling is reinforced by the fact that their speakers are glad when you can speak their language.

Gefeliciteerd, Matt! Wat goed dat je geslaagd bent voor lezen en luisteren. Ik hoop dat je ook snel positief nieuws krijgt over schrijven en spreken. Succes nog even met wachten! 👍🙂

It's pretty easy to use. You just explain in your own words what you want Google AI to do, and that's it. I pasted the Chinese text and told it to convert it into simplified characters, add pinyin and provide an English translation sentence by sentence. It's free, you just need a Gmail account.

Listening to the TeaTime Chinese Podcast.

The transcripts are available for free on their website in traditional characters.

With Google AI Studio, I created a format that displays the content sentence by sentence:

Sentence in simplified characters [bold]
Pinyin [bold]
English

Maybe try Busuu. It's organized and structured, free and a lot more affordable than Duolingo if you go premium (annual subscription).
