Apologies to our neighbours for my annual foot stampathon while I try to put up the christmas lights while defying gales and gravity, with water trickling down my neck.

Did you know #Heathrow expansion means building over FIVE rivers, severing links between the internationally rare #chalkstreams of the #Chilterns and the Thames for fish and otters?

I timed my arrival on the plateau for around 12, and sure enough, the fog started to lift around the same time 👍 Within 20 mins or so it had COMPLETELY gone! The wind vanished too. An astonishingly quick transformation.

Such gorgeous light today. Love this time of year.

We got out for a walk in Hertfordshire to see the trees. There were a few red kite circling overhead. We heard an owl at the end as we finished the walk in the dark.

Did you get out today?

Todays original plan: 4 mile recovery and a chill day

What actually happened with a sunny day and the offer of a lift:
Get dropped off at Upavon. My legs said 'way hey! Lets GO!!! And off they went eating up the miles while I stuffed food in at the top end and admired the views.

The reality today is that only 8% of the countryside is open to public access, and only 3% of our rivers, with around 20 million people living more than 15 minutes from access to nature. Access under CRoW is a postcode lottery, with over 100 constituencies left with no access land at all.

The Countryside Right of Way (CRoW) Act succeeded in giving partial access across the nation.

From downpours to sunshine. I joined the London LDWA group on a 16 mile loop today around Alton. Nice to chat and hand over navigating responsibility.

Hello Peacock, what are you doing in my living room? Shouldn't you be tucked up somewhere safely sleeping?

Walking the coast path. Tilbury to Stanford-Le-Hope. 12 and a bit miles.

These soft days, on the edge of winter, can be so beautiful. Long shadows, golden light, crisp chill air. I knew we had to head to the coast.

Tilbury Fort was closed, but we could walk around the outside. /1

How's the weather in the UK 🇬🇧...

Ah, you know...we had a month's worth of rain in one day last week, the river flooded...oh then it was -3⁰C last night and the flood waters froze.

Bit parky out this morning in #Worcester #ukweather

It was a beautiful morning for a run, but might need to rethink using the towpath for speedwork when its icy. Supposed to be speed running not speedskating.

I enjoy looking at the @metoffice.gov.uk WOW during more extreme temperatures to look for hot and cold spots.

A low of -3.6c at my PWS here in NE Hampshire.

Think I'll postpone today's run until we reach >0c. 🥶
