No hugging, no learning.

Politics, climate, tennis, baseball, food, general nonsense.
He’s about 15 years old so has some arthritis, though he has pretty much always sat like he’s posing for a boudoir shot

He truly has some of the worst political instincts—and he’s so smug about it too! Also—and this is from someone who is extremely concerned about climate change—his movie was not good.

Thanks! Definitely considering adding a few of these to the rotation.

So while in theory official betting sites might be better for the game, it doesn’t seem regulations have caught up. And personally, I don’t think it’s good for society for betting to be as simple as clicking a button when one is bored. Not to mention the abuse athletes receive online from bettors

The filing suggests Emmanuel Clase was participating, undetected, in this scheme for years. So this is the big but, from @benlindbergh.bsky.social: there appears to be “a vast increase in sports wagering, without a commensurate strengthening of integrity guardrails.”

To be up front, I am against online sports betting. I’d prefer it be relegated to physical locations. @benlindbergh.bsky.social notes that betting being official betting sites might be better for sports as it is out in the open, thus easier to monitor than shady back rooms. BUT

Look I’m sure getting hit by a sandwich is not *pleasant*, but, as the defense noted in its closing, it is quite the stretch to believe that the purported victim was harmed in any way. And the definition the DOJ is proposing is far too broad (in my opinion)

This officer was neither physically hurt by a sandwich hitting his tactical vest, nor seemingly mentally harmed as evidenced by he and his colleagues joking about the incident. Like, what are we doing here

I know legal definitions sometimes don’t align with colloquial ones, but one would think bodily harm would have to actually include bodily harm! Not just something someone merely did not like
