Earlier this year, JK Rowling was openly acephobic. Well...on this last day of #AceWeek, some not so great, but important things to remember. Aces can experience:
- bias and exclusion
- harassment
- high rates of conversion therapy

However, ace-exclusionary language gets incorporated in and normalized within discourse through harmful blanket statements such as : 'All Disabled people enjoy sex, because we're human just like you.' Likewise, people defending their Asexuality might tread on ableist language with phrases such as 'We're not broken or disabled.' or 'We do not have a psychological disorder.' Not only does each rhetoric dehumanize Disabled individuals or erase the Asexuality of Ace individuals, it places Disabled Aces in a messy spot as both identities are seemingly at odds with one another."

Did you know that in the latest GLAAD "Where We Are on TV" report, they only counted 4 canon asexual characters (all on streaming btw)? We need to do better!!! #AceWeek

I mostly use the asexual flag (the black, gray, white, and purple). But I'll also use the aroace flag (the sunset flag) and the grayromantic.
asexual flag: 4 stripes in order from top to bottom (black, gray, white, purple) Aroace flag: 5 stripes from order of top to bottom (orange, light orange/yellow, white, light blue, darker blue/teal) Gray romantic flag: 5 stripes in order from top to bottom (green, gray, white, gray, green)
