Léon Spilliaert is often considered a painter but he was primarily a draftsman. While a painter typically works with brushes and paint on canvas or plaster, Spilliaert employed other techniques. He used ink, pastel, watercolor, gouache and pencil, and worked almost exclusively on paper or cardboard.
The painting is titled Trees by the Belgian Symbolist artist Léon Spilliaert.
The artwork depicts a tranquil forest scene, with several tall, slender tree trunks dominating the foreground. The trees, rendered with a meticulous, textured detail, stand on a grassy forest floor. In the middle ground, a smaller, bushy tree with bare branches is visible, framed by the larger trunks. The background consists of a hazy, light-colored sky, creating a sense of depth and a tranquil, contemplative atmosphere.

Anne Songhurst, born 1946, is an artist who specializes in still-life oil paintings. She was inspired by the Dutch and Flemish Still Life Masters. Songhurst's paintings are known for their rich colors, contrasting textures, and the way she uses light and reflective surfaces.

Mustard Pot with Eggs
The painting depicts a still life composition featuring several objects on a wooden table. These objects include a blue and white ceramic jar with a spoon, a tall blue glass bottle, and a plate holding three brown eggs. The plate rests on a folded white cloth napkin.

With three books published, and another project in progress Michael Crouser’s work has transcended a singular subject focus and explored everything from Bullfighting to Cowboy Culture. Michael seems to have a way of making you feel for the subjects that he’s photographing in a very personal way.
the silhouette of a tree dominates the photo, below it on the right a girl bends down to the ground to pick up a ball

Monica Morrill

saskiaw.bsky.social
Monica Morrill is a landscape artist from British Columbia. She was born on Vancouver Island where she grew up exploring the beaches, forests and mountains of the west coast. A self-taught artist, she uses many layers of acrylic paints on canvas to depict colourful images of the Canadian landscape.
This painting by Monica Morrill, titled "Algonquin Sunset," depicts a serene lake scene with a lone figure paddling a canoe. Bold, horizontal bands of orange, yellow, and purple create a striking sunset sky and reflections on the water, framed by dark silhouetted trees.

The talented painter Hayami Gyoshū (1894-1935) is the third generation master of modern nihonga (Japanese-style painting),
Gyoshū successfully combined the Western illusionistic realism with the subjective realism and refined representation of the Chinese Song and Yuan flower-and-bird paintings.

Early in her career, Sylvia Alberts was recognized as a folk artist, but after she began painting on Monhegan she moved to a “designed realism.” In her landscapes, Alberts captures the delicacy and splendor of island cloud formations and brilliance of the sun’s reflection on the sea around Monhegan.
The painting depicts a serene landscape featuring a broad expanse of blue sky with several white, fluffy clouds. In the foreground and midground, rolling brown hills are visible, with a line of green trees and bushes cresting the top of the furthest hill, creating a clear horizon line against the sky.
