Honestly, I still see a decent amount of people who blur the line between them, and some who treat P like a surrogate/stand-in for Carlo when shipping him with Romeo, so it’s not a complete consensus. It’s fiction, everyone has the right to have fun and explore ideas

I wonder if they’ll expand on it in the future, but it’s most likely just gonna remain vague and up to fan interpretation. Both the Petrification Disease and how Ergo works is something I intend to explore in the fic I’m writing

Maybe Geppetto got the disease, but received a genuine cure from Paracelsus; but what about Venigni, will he get the disease soon too? One thing that seems clear is that Petrification Disease can be contracted intentionally and quickly, so I lean towards it being Alchemist-caused

Because assumedly ergo is still dispersed on death and in the air regardless of Kroud, so is this not a problem anywhere else? Perhaps a dense amount of ergo in one place, in the air or physically can cause it. Though that then asks the question how much and by what means

Considering the variety of people who became sick, I assume Petrification Disease either arose from some additional stimulus, maybe something introduced into the water by the Alchemists, or as a random chance like Cancer. If it’s the latter, is it really because of Kroud?

To be clear, because I don’t want to sound too dismissive about it, a lot of nasty things were said and a dividing line was definitely put up. A lot of people are still currently upset about it. I do believe things will settle though (and hopefully certain people will not be interacting anymore)

I only saw some of it, but mostly Carmeo, Geppetto, and proship related Lies of P fandom in-fighting.
I don’t think it ballooned into a big thing, and most people are chill there, but some are very “outspoken”
