Art from @perplexingruins.bsky.social's very excellent (and deeply discounted!) Mörk Borg art pack!

Day 8: Wizard - the King of Nothing. The last and current king of ghouls. He’s wandered the endless halls of the Underworld for years beyond count and has lost his name, his people, and his kingdom. But now his time has come.

Day 7: Shard - Celestial Gold Shard. One of 7 fragments of the Celestial Gold Sword. If they were all collected a master smith could craft them back into a functional blade.

I had an idea last night as I was going to bed for day 7's morktober entry (shard) and I remember thinking, "Yeah dude, I'll remember this." And chat, would you believe that I most certainly do not remember it today.

We were visiting friends in Cincinnati and ended up chatting with a guy at a gem shop and he was like, "Is Chicago really as bad as the tv says it is?" as if everyday is a running gun battle through a Mad Max hellscape.

I love Chicago! My wife and I moved here 14 years ago and I really can't imagine living anywhere else (maybe Milwaukee). Sure it's got its problems, but the Fox News perception of it is so wild to me.

One of my favorite things I do is put my earbuds in and then forget to start playing my music. Another fave is putting my cell phone down in the weirdest places possible, like on top of the coffee maker.

Incidentally, I had a coworker named Paulina and we all pronounced her name wrong 🤦

There are probably a million better Chicago examples, but that's the one that jumped out to me

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

As someone who lives in Chicago, I can confirm it’s not destroyed. ICE is causing a lot of misery but we’re still here!

It’s incredible at how good most of the entries were; I definitely haven’t gone through all of them, but I don’t think I’ve come across one that I’d say was bad. And thanks ❤️!

That’s a really good idea! Plus it makes use of all the stuff that’s already kicking around the collection. Also reminder to myself to go back through the appendix n jam stuff cuz it’s like infinite content.

It's been awhile since I've looked, but I'm shocked that Honey Heist got booted from the top 10. What a time to be alive!

I also think that maybe I've lost my luster for running long campaigns? But I think I also hate my campaigns when they first start out. I dunno, I didn't sleep enough and I'm procrastinating on my therapy homework, so I'm gonna quit while I'm behind.

There are SO MANY cool settings out there, and I'm leaving them on the bookshelf to play around in a half-assed scaffolding that I'm too lazy to really effectively flesh out. Anyway, lesson learned for next time.

And I'm really starting to reconsider that stance. I'm not like an avid world builder; I like it but I don't love it. I really don't care about nitty gritty details, I'm absolutely not a sicko about it (www.mindstormpress.com/sicko-worldb...
Sicko Worldbuilding
Question: What does it take to make compelling worlds? Answer: Going sicko mode.

Most of my ttrpg time is as a GM, and I always always always homebrew my world setting. It always feels like 'homework' to learn about another, preexisting setting and using that. I don't know why, it's obviously way more work to build a world (or even just a region) from scratch. ⬇️

Hell yeah that rules!
