I can't remember what show it was, but I remember someone rendering an entire episode of a show using Aegis' ASSDraw tool to basically reanimate every frame of the video as a subtitle. The script file was ridiculously large and playback performance was garbage, but it was impressively over the top.

Yeah, for a bit there, the only way to get any kind of update was someone would DM the project guy Jake and then they'd post his responses in the comments. So info like that would easily be missed by the majority of people.

Same, although I don't believe they ever actually said that stuff wouldn't be present in an update to the backers, only in a private message to a backer that was then shared. So I think people could rightfully start demanding an actual public explanation, if only to get eyes on it.

I could see them having discs out to backers in November. Feels like a realistic turnaround time. Maybe longer if we can get them to commit to fixing the OVA dub mess.

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

Biggest issue is getting someone who will listen. CR customer service just always uses the same old "We don't have access to the Kickstarter" excuse, so it's likely it's going to come down to messaging Jake that is handling the last gasps of the project to get some kind of response.

Since the glass masters are fine and it's just the labels, repressing new ones shouldn't be too expensive (especially for CR) and if they have to mail us new discs to fix the one, they can mail 3 discs instead.

Yeah, I expected that the missing commentaries were just what it is, that ship sailed, and the screwed up labels on the two movies sucked but isn't the end of the world. Actual wrong audio is an issue that needs correcting. And as such, they should replace those two swapped discs at that point too.

I keep looking at the timeline and this general time of year is just bad for this project. Probably should have predicted the shipping around now.

Oct. 2021: Project launches
Aug. 2022: CR acquires TRSI
Sept/Oct 2023: CR shuts down TRSI store
Sept 2024: CR ships DP physical extras to pacify backers
