I'm one of those who prefers Medieval art over Greco-Roman and Renaissance art (and I have a PhD in ancient history). It annoyed the heck out of a former advisor, as whenever we were at a museum, I'd spend more time looking at Byzantine icons or something rather than the Greco-Roman stuff.
