So I have a long and rather disastrous relationship with "Baldur's Gate 3". I bought the game as soon as it was released for Xbox Series X in December of 2023, and have given it multiple attempts to play through the game since then. Every single attempt has ended in tragedy. My most recent foray into BG3 came just last week, when I tried to make a new character and start fresh.

So the ridiculously-popular D&D 5e campaign "Dungeons of Drakkenheim" is being reworked into a new edition for "Daggerheart" (see the Kickstarter campaign here). This may not seem like a big deal, but I expect this news has some folks over at Wizards of the Coast a wee bit unhappy. To be frank, this isn't the beginning of the end for D&D (that happened several years ago), but it is a rather monumental shift.

So, we all know about the US tariffs placed by the Trump administration, and how they have significantly impacted trade worldwide. But what about when it comes to tabletop roleplaying games? I know that last spring, the word was that TTRPG books printed outside of the United States would be virtually exempt from these tariffs, but other items like dice, minis, game-master screens and so on might be affected.

So Valve announced their next big hardware release last week, to include a new VR headset, a new controller, and of course, a new console/PC thing in the "Steam Machine". This wouldn't be the first time Valve has tried to release a Steam-focused home gaming device, as their last Steam Machine project failed utterly, but this time I think they may actually do well with it.

TL;DR: "Grand Theft Auto VI" got delayed, and it's another weekday ending in a "y". *Yawn* Look, I get it. The "Grand Theft Auto" series of video games are really damn popular, and it has been a really long time since there has been a new game in the series. It is frankly natural for fans of the series to feel that way...

So I just got back from a two week vacation, one where I had planned to do a lot of livestreaming on Twitch. The plan was to livestream myself playing a lot of horror and horror-adjacent games leading up to Halloween, but that... just didn't happen. Oh, I did play some games, and I especially did one big stream regarding tabletop roleplaying games, but that was basically it.

So I bought an Xbox Series X back in August 2023, in preparation for the then-imminent release of "Starfield". But that's neither here nor there. What matters is that I've noticed something over time that has really come to bother me more and more about the Series X platform. It's slow. Like really, really slow. Now I don't mean it's slow while playing games, to be fair it does a fine job in that regard.

So let's talk about a little horror game called "Never Going Home". On the face of it, NGH is a bog-standard war game, set in the no-man's-land of Europe during World War One. The horrors of trying to survive the trenches of WWI, through the chemical warfare, constant artillery and machine gun assaults, and sometimes hand-to-hand combat... that alone has enough to make for an interesting tabletop roleplaying game.

Well, Halloween is coming up this weekend (Friday, specifically), and for a lot of us, this provides the perfect time to break out some horror-based tabletop roleplaying games for some one-shot fun! But what sort of horror games should you pick, as there are so many on the market? Well, let me tell you about a few I would suggest, in no particular order.

In just under 24 hours, my annual Halloween Vacation begins. If you can't already tell, I'm pretty damn stoked about this, and am completely ready for it to begin! My Lovely Bride and I both love Halloween, and Autumn in general. So we take two weeks off every year, bracketing Halloween as best we can, so that we can enjoy the holiday, and still have time to look at the changing leaves, maybe take one last camping trip for the year, and otherwise just stay at home and rest.

So we're pretty deep into the Spooky Season, and I've been thinking about how best I can celebrate my favorite time of year, both here on the website and also on my Twitch channel. Well, my first thought is to play some horror video games on my Twitch stream, but since I downgraded my Gamepass subscription from Ultimate to Essential (because I'm not paying $30/month), I only have access to a few games that fit that bill.

So here's the thing: I haven't gotten a lot of inspiration from "All Flesh Must Be Eaten" specifically. What I have gotten inspiration from is the Unisystem, which is the multigenre game system used be such games as "Witchcraft", "Armageddon", the Buffyverse games, and of course, "All Flesh Must Be Eaten". AFMBE is my favorite of these games, and since it is fitting for the Halloween season...
