Please enjoy some examples of Hazel and Melanie to start off my time under this new blue sky... 💙

Ms. Hazel looks at herself in the bathroom mirror. Her pregnant belly is MASSIVE and threatens to pop the last buttons off of her work shirt.

A woman sleeps in a beach chair by the waterline, her pregnant belly draped heavily on the seat of the chair. Behind her, a seagull steals her bag of potato chips. In the foreground, a silhouetted figure wonders how he's going to get his frisbee out from under this sleeping expectant mother.

Ms. Hazel looks directly at the viewer, one hand on her hip and the other holding a pen. She's unselfconscious, seemingly unbothered by the fact that she's filling out her black pencil shirt, nor by her significant bosom revealed by her unfastened white button-up shirt, and certainly not by the fattening belly protruding from under her yellow sweater. In response to a coworker asking if she was able to have any of the baked goods in the teacher's lounge, she confirms, "Yes, I had one or two! ...Or was it three? I wasn't paying attention... They were delicious!"
In fact, the viewer can see that she put down 6 donuts, 4 cinnamon buns, and a good volume of coffee with creamer, thereby expanding her already prodigious gut.

Melanie, confident, is underestimated once again. Some hapless worker at a buffet warned her that she would be wasting her money on the "All-You-Can-Eat" Special, due to her tiny figure. Melanie, defiantly standing in her running shorts with her arms crossed and her face in smirk, answers, "You haven't seen me eat."
In the next panel, we see Mel screaming at the wait staff, "What are you waiting for?!! FILL IT AGAIN!" as her improbably large belly strains with the weight of all the food she's stuffed into it. She's finished yet another platter, and leans her enormous stomach against the table that has borne her gluttonous feast.

For anyone uninterested in anything but the art, it's super simple for them to skip text posts. I don't mind at all seeing artists venting! It's inherently relatable and it doesn't really compete in the same post-space as your art. 👍

Yeah, there's a degree to which even jokingly agreeing with fascist messaging qualifies as capitulation to it. I think resisting the normalization process for this extremism involves rejecting these ideas outright, rather than adopting them in any way, as jokes or otherwise.
