Anime/Manga talk here too!
I've played Prime 4 for about six hours--Some of it messing around, some of it getting a bit lost, most of it just progressing through the game, so I think I can offer some initial thoughts about the game so far.

I MAY have a small collection!

But it's a good thing I did, because a week before my 13th Birthday, Prime Trilogy would be releasing. I asked in advance to pre-order, and that's all I wanted for my birthday. This was the first game I pre-ordered, still have the original receipt! It also came with a T-Shirt!

Our previous GameCube had broken, and a few months later, my Dad had secretly saved enough to buy us a new one--One night, he took me to Walmart, and was gonna buy a regular console, but the employee suggested this Prime bundle--It was the same price, AND it came with a new game!

Just a little over 24 hours left.

Metroid Prime matters to me for one specific reason--That being this was the first series I got into on my own.

Beforehand, my older Sister always played the new games first--Her opinions on a game skewed my own judgement of them.
December 3, 2025 at 12:15 AM
This is my memories of Prime 4 specifically, a game I have been watching VERY closely, anticipating every day it got closer--But, in the week until the release of this game, I wanna discuss the other games in the series, and what they mean to me and WHY I'm so excited.

Starting with the original.

This, for me, gave me more confidence in this game than ever before.

Not because Retro would be on the project, but because, Nintendo, for lack of better words, was promising not to "Half-Ass" a new Prime game.

This was a promise, that, a new Prime game would *NOT* release if it wasn't good.

And yet, when I should have felt disappointment, as the video progressed, I felt like I could finally release a breath I'd been holding in since 2017.

Metroid Prime 4, was restarting development from scratch--Retro likely had to cancel projects to shift their team onto this one.
November 27, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Then, we got an "Update", and watching this video was like holding your breath. "Is it canceled? Is it just delayed?"

I expected the worst--Especially as the video progressed. I had feared the worst since learning the team wasn't Retro, this felt like a confirmation of those fears.

But, then came the moments after E3, where I had to hold my breath--Because this article came out, revealing that, the long-term developers of the series, would be MIA. Nintendo was being strangely quiet about the actual team working on this one, but for now, I had to trust it would be good.
November 27, 2025 at 5:19 PM
But by the time 2017 was rolling around, was when I really started to come to peace with the idea that, the Prime series was dead. Classic Sonic was returning soon at the time, and, I thought THAT was the only gaming miracle that would happen to me in 2017.

Then, E3 2017 came around.

Federation was kinda the moment I assumed Nintendo had sidelined the series, like the F-Zero or Mother fans before me, I sorta started to accept that the Prime games, were done. I enjoyed Federation Force as I felt it would be my last chance to play a Prime game, and thought it was pretty fun.
November 27, 2025 at 5:19 PM
The wait is almost over--We are in the final week until my most anticipated game since 2017.

I'm gonna use this moment to share some personal thoughts about the series, and the buildup towards this game--So that maybe, it'll show how much these games matter to ME.
November 27, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Holy cow, this was probably my least favorite Game Awards to vote in--I played almost nothing in the nominations, and I only vote if I've played it.

And why is Metroid Prime 4 not an option for most anticipated game!?
November 17, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Since Death Stranding 2 is gonna win just to ensure Kojima gets a chance to step up onto stage, I'm just gonna take this opertunity to say:

Bananza IS my choice--But Expedition 33 and Silksong are both great examples of what we need more of in the industry, passion projects by small teams.

I think the funniest thing about Aperture Science isn't that Cave bought a massive salt mine and put a bunch of human test subjects in it, it's that, for some reason, they built the facility from the bottom up--Like, the oldest layers are buried deep below the rest.
November 16, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Seeing people say this looks uncomfortable, but anyone who picked up a Steam Deck knows that this will probably be one of the best feeling controllers on the market, especially for PC games!
November 13, 2025 at 1:50 AM
Bananza did a pretty great job at recreating the DKC pre-rendered style, so I hope they do something similar with the next 3D Mario game, but instead of recreating the look of the NES/SNES games, they attempt to recreate the look of the Mario 64/Mario Kart 64 Boxart!
November 10, 2025 at 11:44 AM
You know, it's strange that with all our graphical power we have today, and everyone trying to sell nostalgia, that we haven't gotten a modern game that has attempted to emulate the look and atmosphere of boxart renders from the N64 days.

We've seen fanmade models, but not full games!

Close enough, welcome back Star Fox
November 7, 2025 at 12:57 AM
I feel a bit crazy looking at these upcoming releases and still seeing people say Switch 2 doesn't have any games.

If anything, I don't have enough money to keep up with everything!
November 5, 2025 at 7:31 PM
I think I have a clear preference here
November 5, 2025 at 4:06 PM
I play less Mario Kart these days according to the data
November 5, 2025 at 4:04 PM
I forgot about this one!
November 5, 2025 at 3:51 PM
For someone who complains about these games so much, I've put a few hours into 'em!
