The whole reason the league was created was because Bob Young promised Hamilton city council he would get a soccer team.

CSA denied him a team in a US league and pushed for the creation of CPL instead.

Personally I like Valour but I get why people stay away. Best away fans in the league IMO

IMO if they had what Pacific has (nice stadium, consistent playoff appearances, a championship) they would be drawing much better than Pacific

I think Winnipeg is salvageable where Edmonton wasn't. Fans showed they wanted CPL, the club was just so poorly run it turned enough people off. Plus WFG won't be demanding their NASL demands be made whole like the Faths.

I just don't see anyone stepping in and salvaging Valour.

Miller was only interested in having WFG's stadium loans written off. Valour provided an additional tenant for the stadium to show it was more widely used.

I do wonder, assuming we get an expansion announcement as expected on Wednesday, if we don't see an announcement in the offseason for Valour folding.

Hope it doesn't happen but WFG havent been paying the bills the last couple years. Unless a new owner saves them it isn't turning around.

Attendances for last weekend's games played at the same time: Cavalry drew 4231 and the Wild drew 3672. Both right around their averages for the year.

Probably confirms what we know which is that both clubs have their own support with a bit of overlap between the two.
