Sure are 😍 The Model B in particular is a minter.

Best I can do right now is my model B and an Elk. This was back before I built a custom space for such things. I’m just mid stream on other projects so no room to set-up any retro gear ATM :)

I’m lucky enough to have a model B and a Master. My most prized retro computers for sure ;)

Practise makes perfect. Two tips: hotter iron. Tin the ends of the wires before soldering to the board.

That’s a very tidy energy dashboard! Nice work!

Lead exposure from soldering is not an issue as the lead doesn’t get hot enough to atomise into the air. Fumes from solder are burning flux and can be easily mitigated with a small fan blowing them out of harms way (or soldering in a large well ventilated room). HTH.

Now this looks very interesting. I built an e-ink weather display for our living room recently and would love to put a simple HA dashboard (or rotating set) directly on it.

And hoorah, the reflow was a success. Chuffed to think I don't need to hand solder SMD parts any longer and hey, the board actually works (one minor mistake fixed with a bodge--ALWAYS run ERC one last time before cutting the gerbers ;)

Did the backup feature not work? Its saved my bacon a few times.

Thanks. If I can do it, anyone can ;) just working up the courage the populate the board and reflow…might take me a couple of days to mentally prepare.

It’s a good thumbnail so I’d vote yes.

Prefer none. Stumbled across your channel today and think you nailed the pace in the latest KiCad one. Your voice has a good easy listening quality. Look forward to more.

I use ESP32 exclusively because it’s cheap and I’ve built up familiarity with it (including its quirks). There are so many great OS libraries that abstract interfacing with virtually anything so getting a PoC operational is relatively painless.

Brilliant, thanks for the explanation.

Those look pretty cool. Newbie question: Is there any benefit other than aesthetics?
