Found what I thought was a home made bouy/float washed up onto the road this morning with some Common Mussles attached.

Not seen one of these before they are usually cooking or motor oil containers with the lids araldited/glued on.

The Equinox Tides are approaching so it's seaweed fest time on the beach.

Black-headed Gulls on the sea close to the shoreline picking invertebrates washing out of large mounds of seaweed that is washing ashore. Black-headed Gulls and Herring Gulls standing on mounds of seaweed that has washed ashore completely covering the beach. A flock of Starlings foraging on mounds of beached seaweeds. Rows of Starlings standing at the top of a lighthouse waiting at high tide for the water to recede so the can get back down on to the beach to feed. The Jolly Rodger is flying from a flag pole above them.

Only young Fulmars left on the cliffs here, a far larger than usual influx of terns and the auks that mostly jumped 5-6 weeks ago are still here.

Kittiwake chicks now with wings and tails and big enough to be left on their own but not for long - the corvids have brought a pair of juniors along. It was a bit tense and noisy for a while but after bugs and small rodents were found they left.

Maybe fell off the front of a butchers shop and went straight down the drain, sometimes see them at kiosks at the beach that sell hot dogs.

There is a giant 5ft high version of one with a face at a kiosk at the beach here, probably gives loads of children nightmares.

I found a Flapper Skate egg case today on a beach to the west of Arbroath, I found a few in 2023 but this is the first one I have seen since then.
