I am taking a pretty intense Dynamic Sketching class right now. Half the struggle for me in the first couple weeks was just getting used to fitting in daily homework. Finally feeling on top of it in week 3.

Yay! Sketchboock Club. It’s been since Hurricane Helene since I’ve been. It’s now moved to 12 Baskets in West Asheville. Glad to be back!

The RADA (River Arts District Artists) meeting was packed last night! I recently joined RADA & now I realize I should have joined a couple years ago. It was really encouraging to hear about all the hard work going on behind the scenes with the recovery of the Asheville River Arts District. ❤️

I decided to do a horse & mouse for January’s Sketchbox wildlife theme. The hat & cowgirl were a part of this month’s video tutorial to help learn how to use the supplies. Quite a fun month and only using what comes in the box really pushes me to do things different way than I usually do.

We have had a couple snow days here. It’s nice to be home to make sure Chairman Meow is all tucked in and warm for his naps.

Excited about my new little thermal printer for all kinds of labels. After losing my gallery space/art in hurricane helene, it’s finally pushing me to get a little online store going. Even if it doesn’t do much for a long time, anything really helps.

Day off from work so it’s a perfect day to work through the Sketchbox tutorial for the January box. It takes me all day to work through it. Then I will need to come up with my own design in the coming days. This is part of the “warmup” and getting used to the supplies. Really liking them so far.

Thoughts after a full week of sketches:
I think I've hammered down a pretty efficient process and found a brush I'm happy with.
Still taking more time per drawing than I'd like, but overall, happy with the first week.
