If you ask someone today to name the builder of Hadrian's Wall, they would give you a funny look. But historical memory is odd, and right up to the 1800s we forgot who built it.

Until in 1840 John Hodgson, an obscure Northumbrian clergyman, published the LONGEST footnote in history... 1/22

An important point to come out of the Sandie Peggie case is that 'gender critical' employees can't take matters into their own hands and confront trans employees. If they do that it is likely to be harassment/ bullying/ a hate incident.

When The Mirror is suggesting people mask… things must be bad.

Mask up folks! Ideally N95 or better!

It was all just for show and it was obvious at the time. It just wasn’t polite to say so openly.

My great great grandparents were part of settling a town where Indigenous people were forced off their land. The town is 150 years old, the fish traps in the river 1,000s of years older.

They did what their culture told them was right, but it wasn’t right.

I apologise for my family too.

I noticed the authors had shared the data behind their charts in the Appendix Supplementary materials, so I built a quick dataviz project to explore.

If you work in a Canadian healthcare setting (or other workplace) where COVID-19 or other pathogens *might* be present, and want to determine what the proper standards-compliant PPE is for your workplace, the CSA provides an interactive tool that will identify that and generate a printable report.

Every single public health leader who denied the fact that COVID is airborne created permanent conflicts of interest that mean they simply can't be trusted to provide accurate information on any airborne illness (including the flu).

Screwing up and wasting an enormous number of lives will do that.

How many times do we have to be right about what's going on before everyone recognizes the link with the huge conflicts of interest held by the public health and infection control leaders minimizing the impacts of airborne diseases like flu and COVID, and pretending nothing can be done about them?

The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.
