Turn the health system into one of the top 5 in the world, what’s step 1?
December 9, 2025 at 6:29 AM
I question the value of stealth, no invasion need.

Who knows what Trump has given to Putin. US is unreliable for now. We have to factor that in.

Grippen cheaper to operate, faster, flies longer, takeoff from short highways, couple of people to turnover.

Also some opportunity for feedback at the bottom of the article 👍

We have to put in the effort nationally to assertively shift healthcare.

If we don’t investors will continue buying deals with premiers to get more revenue streams from healthcare

Jurisdiction was studied by people smarter than me. It can change, if people support.

Con’s will change it for profit

CIHI is great info, unfortunately it is a bit behind in processing.

Not sure how we get to 1 year behind va 2.

We can save in the billions annually on healthcare if we move to non-profit delivery, nationalize more or all of the system and stop unnecessarily duplicating work.

MRI’s, labs, beds

Whistle blower protection for health professionals?

How many have been silenced in BC alone?

Regional Health Authorities offer no benefit.

Provincial jurisdiction no longer offers any measurable cost benefit either.

We need a national citizens assembly on key issues holding us back.

Let’s not forget the BC Dental College, it’s still ignoring patients valid concerns and does not initiate its own investigation when presented data.

No province to my knowledge has a single Patient Management team to help patients or loved ones file a complaint.

Silo and deny as much as possible?
December 6, 2025 at 9:45 PM
We literally burn billions of dollars nationwide, ignore patient advocates & research.

Now let’s do Infoway, the duplicate regional systems in BC?

No reports from Deputy MoH via Infoway according to access to info. What are Canadians paying for?

@pennydaflos.bsky.social

If people are motivated to write their MP & or the MoH & or the PM, worth mentioning petition e-4113 that had 33,666 signatures and did not result in the protections we need.

Reminded of these ribbons
December 5, 2025 at 9:52 PM
I used to compile executive compensation, which is difficult, BC doesn’t disclose it all.
BC could have 1 new MRI / year on duplicate executive comp.

You can see AB’s costs where they moved to single CEO and must be worse with all the chaos.

How many provinces succeeded in achieving the goals from the last National Commission on Healthcare?

What measurement tool exists to ensure health systems improve and adopt recommendations made by unbiased experts?

I interpreted tones for nationalizing in the Romano’s Report
December 5, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Is Alberta getting +$400 million of additional care value from Prov run healthcare ?

Or would the money be better spent every year on MRI’s, Ultrasound equipment, etc. & eventually beds?
@sphillipsab.bsky.social

Not all costs to have full Prov Jurisdiction & Delivery in this table
December 5, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Albertans could demand a citizens assembly to provide a proper mandate for change.

Something tells me that Gov would try to manipulate it though. Might be best to seek a national citizens assembly. @mark-carney.bsky.social

We are past due for a National Commission

The where a section I drafted should probably be shorted and better written, but highlights things that I’m considering as support for a citizens assembly
December 4, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Should there be an Our Commons Petition to call for a national citizens assembly on #cdnhealth care?

There is misinformation on the health system and no real mandate for change.

Do we solvent to rely on politicians to change the Canada Health Act? That’s likely what is coming.
December 4, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Compensate for system caused harm, shut out the CMPA - fix problems.

Prov Gov’s are failing healthcare across Canada.

Time to ask what the measurable benefit is - I don’t see any.

Pay for excess duplicate admin, or hands on care?

Billions just to have Prov run.
Not all costs to have Prov run
3/3
December 3, 2025 at 5:45 AM
The NDP have ignored many patient advocates.

Maybe if any gov acted on the research the Prov Deputy MoH’s commissioned in 1990 (on tax payer funds) the system wouldn’t be where it is.

Gov effectively hides system harm behind the CMPA.

We need no fault harm comp

Let’s ask AI if provincial run healthcare is worth the added cost VS a truly national health system.

Japan is nationally designed, prices for care set nationally, licensing etc.
Prefectures staff and deceiver.

One style.

The other, fully national - S Korea.

Both outperform us

December 3, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Which Euro style of healthcare?
Are they more nationally designed systems like Japan or even better, fully national like S Korea?

Look at those bed counts @naheednenshi.bsky.social
December 2, 2025 at 2:01 AM
I had an error in sorting and should have had Quebec as the cost effective system for administration.

That boosts the numbers to $2.1 billion in savings on a basic extrapolation
December 1, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Updated financials from CIHI on provincial costs for healthcare administration per the attached definition.

This is not all costs to have 13 customized health systems.

If someone is willing to check the numbers and let me know if they see any mistakes 👍

Any thoughts / comments on this as a potential Our Commons Petition?

I’d like to shorten the bullet points, would the extra info help those who are not aware of some of the issues?

The Prime Minister needs to fund a national citizens assembly.

Only way to shut the premiers up with their nonsense about jurisdiction & alleged mandates from First Past the Post. IMO

This petition had piles of support, but seems forgotten already, e-4113
