Dumping rain and our house just sprung a massive window leak; in the process of digging around for duct tape to seal off the outside until we can get it fixed, we found *another* leak under the water heater tank that has already stained and warped the floor. Holidays off to a fine start.

It helps to have a very heavy, stable base - we use the Krinner one (pictured) and ours has not been able to pull it down. Ymmv. Also, no glass ornaments and a dense tree

Spent the day chatting with Sylvie Delacroix at SEPAI in Rome; it’s amazing when you go to a conference and meet a lovely person that you should already have met but somehow just never did! Plus last night i went to a great vegan cat cafe for dinner and got to pet this stripey chonkster

After five years in Scotland, my husband has made some friends locally, something at which I have failed miserably (not counting my lovely work colleagues). So he’s off having adventures today while I’m staying home with the cat. She’s good company, she knows all the good sunspots

Many know Carol had a boyfriend cat, who visited her daily for all four years of her life. She often danced for him. Sometimes he got inside and ran under the bed with her. He tragically passed away two weeks ago and she is wrecked still (us too). We are getting her a dog. She’ll thank us later.
