Last night I unexpectedly found myself drinking a Hamm’s and doing pull tabs in the suburbs. With my adult son and my recently widowed dad. This is more unusual for us than I can explain. 2025 has been a real one.

We continued our tradition of parent / child voting adventures. Going strong since my kid turned 18 in 2017. And he often accompanied me when he was a minor. Curious to see how the Minneapolis mayoral race shakes out. We did not rank Frey.

Happy Godzilla Day! I am so lucky I got to see the amazing projections at the Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku when we were in Tokyo.

My son made another double batch of Halloween cookies for his anime club buddies. In a role reversal, our orange cat left the cookie production alone while our tuxedo cat kept trying to jump on the table.

My tuxedo cat hipchecked my phone out of my hand to kickstart cuddle hour. I love cuddling with her but she’s now sleeping on top of my kindle.

I hosted a Halloween party last night. My partner and I love Star Trek Lower Decks. They dressed as Bradward Boimler (who they already look like) while I was D’Vana Tendi. The green skin makeup was unpleasant.

Tomorrow, Sunday October 26th, is the last day to see the Alebrijes: Keepers of the Island Outdoor Exhibit on Raspberry Island in Saint Paul. The sculptures are stunning up close.
