This is a huge civil rights issue. All sorts of kids have rights enforced by the Feds and this will mean fewer kids get what they are entitled to under the law because state and local officials disagree with civil rights and no one will be there to enforce these laws.

This is the legislature to do this, this year. The right combo of transit oriented development leaders and deregulation enthusiasts could come together to do the right thing here.
Plus, bonus points for MAGA types to stick it to Kenwood liberals. This is very possible for a good leader to do.
