I don’t believe my trust can be regained. The level of hate and corruption that has been shown, not just by the administration, but by millions of Americans is something I can’t get past

She has tried to straddle the line of pandering to far right and separatists but wanting to keep moderates and it’s crashing on her. There are so many factions in Alberta now with their own separatist or 51st state agenda that it may be the failing of
UCP

They have become accustomed to Albertans unfailing support no matter what and cannot grasp that maybe people really have had enough of the UCP

Our society is definitely failing and it’s hard to watch.

As someone who lives next door with Smiths BFF as Premier, I am becoming as uncomfortable with AB as a neighbor as I am the US. The entire country needs to acknowledge the degradation of democracy in AB and understand the same thing is simmering in their province

Smiths loyalty to O&G over renewables will hurt Albertans in the years ahead and yet many believe she’s correct. The two industries should be able to co exist within the province.

Sheer and Poilievre both double down on the divisive propaganda even though the Canadian public voted against and now members of their caucus express their distaste for the right wing rhetoric. Both tone deaf

The Conservative Party has become a hateful divisive group of people that is focused only on power and not the well being of Canadians

Alberta’s seem unwilling or unable to move away from their “political identity” and vote for policies the may benefit and against corruption that is destroying education and healthcare

I grew up 15 minutes from the US border and can’t even count the number of times I crossed that border but I cannot muster any sympathy for a Trump supporting state that doesn’t give a damn about Canadians - it’s all about the money

Enjoy the victory, and do NOT relent or become complacent. The January 6th insurrection was a trial run, the current regime needs to be toppled and stopped from ever attempting this nightmare again. Because, a third bite will be the end of democracy in America.

As a Canadian I am thrilled to see what happened during elections and it has given me (and likely the world) a sense of hope when we believed the Democratic Party was failing their country!
