On top of that, there is no public accountability for the private schools that get this funding, like public schools are. And what parent will pass up free money for private schooling, even if they don't "need" it? That's not "school choice", it's a scam to aid the affluent.

I urge you to look into this further. I'm in IA and feel it's ridiculous. Taxpayer money, intended for public schools, is diverted to these "vouchers". Parents, regardless of their wealth, can apply for the $, even if they can afford private school on their own. Less money then for public schools.

I have long suspected newer things are built to be disposable. Used to be, cars were built to last, but now you hit a corn stalk and it's totalled. Same with cell phones & other electronics. Because we're supposed to just keep buying & buying & buying....

Age 15, in Charleston, SC. Saw 3 large white lights in the sky. Transfixed, watched them move around, speeds varied, one looked like it was coming right at me, then zipped away. Other two, hovered a few seconds, then bolted away in different directions. Whole thing about 4 minutes. It terrified me.
