The O's took an early lead on a 1st inning Don Buford home run, but the Cubs came right back and built a 4-run lead after 3 innings as Chicago swept the AL Champions.

Ken Holtzman pitched a 5-hit, 7 strikeout CG and the Cubs scored all of their runs on homers by Jim Hickman and Ron Santo

I was disappointed by this movie when I saw it, but that was before I realized I can take Chevy Chase and Martin Short only in small-ish doses

John Wayne appeared in three films whose titles begin with "Three."

Can you name them?

I once did a couple of posts about my favorite athletes of any sport to wear (almost) every number from 0 to 99.

It was a lot of work

And my brain cries out "It's the 1970 Topps font!" 😂
A green highway sign which says "Welcome To Texas" at the top in the same font (Koffee?) that is used for the players names on 1970 Topps baseball cards. Below that is the flag of Texas and below that it says (in a sans serif traffic sign font) "DRIVE FRIENDLY - THE TEXAS WAY"

Got curious and scanned the list... 47 recognized by title, I'm fairly confident that I'd know a few more if I took time to go through the videos

Seems appropriate to trot out a drawing of mine from a few years ago

The husband and wife team of Teddy Johnson and Pearl Carr represented the UK in the 1959 Eurovision song contest with their song "Sing, Little Birdie".

There's misinformation out there that says they won, but they actually finished 2nd to the Netherland's Teddy Scholten ("Een Beetje") #Whizzo

I'm kind of afraid of finding out how many of those songs I even know

By the end of the 1986 World Series I was seriously sleep-deprived and ill-tempered. Couldn't do it now

Sir Gerald Nabarro was a British businessman and Conservative Party politician. I've heard tell that Sir Gerald had a pet prawn called "Simon", and you wouldn't call him a looney. #Whizzo

People are saying that these #Whizzo Brand cards were issued in the UK in the 1970s, but there's nothing out there to verify that it's a real set. Regardless, it seems that many of the subjects had been name-dropped in Monty Python TV shows, movies or albums. Funny, that.

These logos have an almost Scooby Doo-ish vibe about them, and I don't mean that in a bad way
