It's even funnier when people say "its leaked that they're doing one" like it wasn't PLASTERED IN THEIR OWN SITE

Idk, I feel gatekeepy saying most people praising the album haven't actually listened to it in its entirety, I'm sure many have. But Idk, I'd like to see some praise for the good tracks in there that aren't OMSttC, Witchcraft or The Terminal Show.

Instead, it's more... atmospheric? And there's a few dissonant tracks here and there. But nothing really creates dread, fear or stress. So it falls flat on the SH1 vibe as well.

I think Yamaoka was going for a SH1 vibe with this soundtrack, but there's two big differences. SH1's OST had almost EVERY in-game track, so everything had attachment. Second, HC OST really lacks the hostility of 1's soundtrack. Nothing hypes you up or induces stress.

Doesn't help that over half the OST album doesn't play in-game, and some really good in-game tracks were left out of the album. There's no attachment to so many of these tracks. SH4's album-only tracks were far more memorable.

It's not that it doesn't have good tracks. Cold Blood, Living in Fear, This Sacred Line are pretty good... But they're so few in a sea of very forgettable tracks. Sometimes I think they're so forgettable that people forget to think about them to rate the album.
