The second explores peptide gels as soft 3D matrices where NPs nucleation and growth occur in situ within a macroscopic yet nanostructured environment. This work illustrates how rational peptide design enables control over the structure and properties of peptide–AuNP materials.

The review examines two complementary strategies for templating gold nanoparticles with self-assembling peptides. The first relies on discrete supramolecular assemblies that act as nanoscale scaffolds, enabling precise organisation and chirality transfer.
