@timrichards that sounds like a great concept. At the risk of using a cliche it’s potentially a bit “live like a local” and will give you deeper insights than two days of the big ticket museums and navigating transport. Presumably more relaxing too.

@Andres4NY I’ve long thought there’s a post-apocalyptic novel to be written where, initially, the bike is the star. Obviously materials will run out eventually (unless there’s adaptation) but they’ll have a good few years’ head start.

Thanks all for the useful responses. I’ve tried that bridging thing but it sure how it helps me follow people on here or interact with them. I may give it a whirl. Further advice very welcome!
