Holding option also gives you a bunch of alternative controls, like being able to quickly remove fills and shadows. Also the flip horizontal/vertical controls change to rotate left/right by 90º. Super handy. 🧵

You can scrub any numeric field without focusing it, making it quicker and easier to quickly set or adjust a value just be clicking and dragging. Also, if you focus a numeric field we select its contents automatically for quick replacement. 🧵

We built a lot of custom controls for the new Inspector, including these sliders that you can double-click to return to their “natural” value. Or click anywhere within the slider to set a value. Or just…drag the old fashioned way. The choice is yours! 🧵

ICYMI we just shipped a big redesign — and an all-new Inspector. It’s a complete write that we started earlier in the year. It meant we could do things like break out the color picker into its own panel and give color variables a much more prominent home.

Here’s a neat new feature in our big redesign — focus mode. It filters the layer list to show only the layers you’ve selected, their container(s) and any siblings. If you’ve got a busy canvas, this is going to stop you scrolling for miles in the Layer List.

Projects and Collections in your Workspace are now called… folders. So, the name isn’t exciting, but they’re way more flexible now. You can nest them infinitely, call them what you like, and organize your work exactly how you want.

You can now set the content in your stacks to wrap. This works for your horizontal stacks, but also for your vertical ones! Get you a tool that can do both.

In practice, the Tahoe-style sidebar ended up feeling very distracting. We actually created a prototype to test all the different options.

It’s a full revamp, including a complete redesign (and rewrite!) of the Inspector. Lots more to say on this when the beta drops, but there are so, so many tiny improvements in here we think you’ll enjoy.

Yes, the new toolbar has The Glass. It’s got some other neat tricks, too. We’ll save those details for the big reveal.

And finally: Progressive alpha. This one’s cool. One-click gradient alpha masks, basically. Just like progressive blurs, you can add stops and adjust them on the canvas. A true time-saver.

Also new: Concentric corners. Throw out that faved post from your favorite Design Influencer™ and set your corners to auto. We’ll calculate their radii based on the ones on the nearest container. Math!

Next up: progressive blur. Linear or radial. Add as many stops as you like. Adjust them right on the canvas. You’ve been faking progressive blurs long enough, it’s the real deal now.

Our next major update is here — and it’s got glass in it.
Yep, that glass. Non-solid, lowercase-G glass. It works right out of the box (as all glass should?) but you can also tweak every parameter. It’s a lot of fun.

Hmm, should be working! Here I’m recording in our latest beta, but I checked our latest stable release and that’s the same. Are you using your PNG as a fill for a layer? Or just dragging it directly onto the Canvas (like I have here)?

Re: reverting a Stack back to a group, you can do the following: (1) Delete the stack layout by clicking the trash can icon in the Layout section of the Inspector (2) Switch the container type back from Frame to Group at the top of the Inspector.
