On this day in 1971, the infamous hijacker D. B. Cooper took command of the 727 he was a passenger on while they were over the Pacific Northwest. After he received his $200,000 ransom, Cooper put on a parachute, jumped out the plane and into lengend. Did he live? Die? Nobody knows.
