I take a long time to finish builds, if at all. NO KIT GETS BINNED.

Revell 1/72 Hurricane Mk.IIc of 28 squadron of RAF SEAC Dalbumghar North East India 1944. Not a bad kit, not a brilliant kit, but it very much looks like a Hurricane.

Tbh I started a 1/48 P-47 MkII mini art kit before this. Didn't read the instructions and hashed the pilots seat into the cockpit. I got intimidated and put it to one side. It's SEAC colours so watch out for more at some point next year!

Weathered and ready for a final clear and fixing of the remainder of the "breakable" items. Despite it being a 1996 Revell kit, I've quite enjoyed this one and it went together without too much fuss. #Histscalemodels

It's time to scavenge the spare Hurricane kit again that I had to buy for landing gear. I've somehow misplaced one of the cannons that had broken off while I was painting them last night. An extensive search has brought up nothing!

Think that'll do from the weathering point of view on the Hurricane. #Revell #Histscalemodels #Scalemodels

Pin washes and dot filters done on the hurricane. The last cannon is still hanging on dot dear life.

Very nice Dave. How does the kit build for wheels up?
slowmademodels.bsky.social
That's the decals done and sealed in with a couple of coats of gloss. I quite like the glossiness of the paint job so I may not matte it down too much for weathering and final assembly.

I'd concur, but Revell kits are getting expensive these days for stuff that is not even close to Tamiya quality.

Yep, I'll always knock something off a build. I also only seem to make builds with something that rattles around inside.
slowmademodels.bsky.social
I'll glue them all back on. But they're so fragile I feel they'll end up being squint! In hindsight I should have painted them on the sprue and waited till the end.

This is the ultra rare single cannoned Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc. Principal decals are now on. Only 30 or so stencils to put on. I wonder how long that last cannon will stay in place?

The issues are not insurmountable but given the timescale we feel the most prudent option is not to proceed at this time. We intend to run our inaugural show in 2026 and will communicate more details around that shortly.

Quote from the organisers

Regretfully we have had to take the decision to cancel this show. This is not a decision we have taken lightly but we have encountered several difficulties which have the potential to impact the success of the show and pose a financial risk to the club.
slowmademodels.bsky.social
I know. Two local shows within 24 hours. They cited continuing may put the club in financial jeopardy. It was to be the first event they held. So probably lots learned in the process and have possibly underestimated some of the risks.

Yeah, gutted. Theres a show the week before in Forres. There's a few club members going, but it's too long for me to be away from the kids. Last year there was free access to the museum & cockpits at Moravia. This year you need to pay the museum fee to visit on top of the show.

It's disappointing to miss out on both Badger. I think the organisers won't have taken the decision lightly. See you next year hopefully.

Saw this earlier badger. It's a shame. I was looking forward to catching up and enjoying the show. Unfortunately not this year. Next one for me is Dunfermline next month, but I expect that is more low key.

That's very nice badger! I like the deck kits that are becoming more readily available. I prefer these over the photographic bases, I think it adds more realism.
