and what if i write inuokko / ottoge where yuuta doesn't survive the final battle and toge is left regretting that he never confessed to yuuta (inspired by ruin the friendship by taylor swift)
Toge remembers the exact moment he loses Yuuta. He sits in a corner of Ieiri’s morgue. His only company is Rika as she clutches Yuuta’s uninhabited body to her chest. One of his eyes remains open—hauntingly staring but not seeing, void of any life. The surgical slice across his forehead where his brain had been removed using Kenjaku’s technique still bleeds. The sticky, red fluid runs down his face, making his hair stick to his temple and gluing his other eye shut. They wait anxiously as Yuuta does something absolutely insane, something reckless—a typical all-or-nothing Okkotsu Yuuta move, one based on having no sense of self-preservation. Once again, he’s willing to risk it all for the sake of his friends. Rika’s primal, panicked screech is the only warning Toge gets before she disappears permanently, leaving Yuuta’s body slumping to the floor—forever empty. A shell left behind when his consciousness jumped into Gojo’s body in his final attempt to save them all. In the end, Toge would learn that he helped Yuuji get the edge needed to finally defeat Sukuna. But at what cost? Toge had lost his heart and soul. His very reason for living. And Yuuta didn’t even know it. ---- The first time Toge almost kissed Yuuta happened just days after Geto attacked.

When Toge and the dogs return to the barn after lunch, Okkotsu has finished his meet and greet and Megumi has sent him home to come back the following day. “What do you think of him?” Megumi asks when Toge strolls into the office. Megumi is sitting at the desk looking over a calendar and jotting down notes, but he pauses to watch Toge sign. “He’s haunted.” “Excuse me?” Megumi raises an eyebrow. “He’s been through it. Like me. Like Maki.” Toge shrugs as he signs. “There’s some trauma there. He’s looking for a reason to live.” “You got all that from the 30 seconds you interacted with him,” Megumi deadpans and Toge snickers.

Resurrecting inuokko / ottoge horse rescue au that I haven’t touched in ages (literally 2+ years)
“I’m glad you’re interested in volunteering. We can always use more help around here.” Toge watches Okkotsu’s eyes track his movements before he smiles, raising his hands to sign while he speaks. “Yeah, no problem. Just looking for something new and a way to occupy my time.” Toge can tell there’s more to it. He takes a moment to look him over—he’s experienced enough and worked with enough horses to recognize the shadow of trauma hanging over someone’s shoulders. Not to mention the haunted look in Yuuta’s storm blue eyes, the dark circles indicating nights of sleeplessness, and the messy dark hair that looks like he’s always anxiously running his hands through it. The 3am email makes a lot more sense now.

I started this a while ago for an omegaverse week, but I never finished it so might as well try to finish for inukamo week 👀

In a desperate attempt to protect himself from his clan, Toge baby traps Noritoshi, knowing the Kamo clan will force them to marry, gaining him the protection he seeks.
Kamo set an alarm on his phone and they waited. Kamo paced. Toge pretended to anxiously bite his nails. Kamo’s alarm went off and he rushed over to the sink. He stood beside Toge and picked up the test, taking a deep breath before looking at the screen where it would either say Pregnant or Not Pregnant. Pregnant. “Fuck,” Kamo breathed out. Toge yanked his hands through his hair and shook his head. “Okaka,” he mumbled. “What are we going to do?” He began pacing again. “What’s going to happen now?” Toge remained silent, pretending he was stunned into silence as Kamo paced and verbalized every thought and question popping into his head. He stopped abruptly and looked at Toge, his eyes dropping to Toge’s stomach for a beat. “I have to tell my clan,” he stated quietly. Toge winced theatrically. “I—I have to tell them,” he repeated, stunned. “I don’t know what will happen, what they might decide…” he trailed off. Toge waited a beat for Kamo to continue, but he had clamped his mouth shut. “Takana?” “They might decide that we need to get married,” he stated quietly. Toge’s eyes widened. “Takana?” “Yes.” Kamo nodded before ducking his head in shame. “They won’t want to deal with another bastard especially if this pup inherits Blood Manipulation. There’s no way to know that it will, but they won’t want to take the chance. I’m so sorry, Inumaki.” Toge remained silent, feigning shock, surprise, maybe even anger at the situation—whatever emotion Kamo wanted to read on his face and from his body language. Meanwhile, he couldn’t be more pleased that things were going exactly as he planned.

After a week-long hospital stay for severe preeclampsia, I was induced and Snakelet arrived 7 weeks early. She’s hanging out in the NICU and doing amazing! We can’t wait to bring her home whenever that may be 💚

Fifteen minutes later, they stepped out hand in hand with matching silver wedding bands on their left ring fingers and a small album of pictures. Toge still wasn’t sure how it happened—how they went from laughing at the over the top decor and Elvis impersonators to saying ‘I do.’ Choso used the hand he held of Toge’s to tug him closer and kissed him in the small photo op gazebo outside the Elvis chapel. A possessive, searing kiss, like Choso couldn’t get enough of him. “You know what happens now,” he whispered huskily against Toge’s lips. His voice made Toge’s stomach flip with anticipation. “What?” Toge asked. “We consummate the marriage.” Choso grinned. “And I’m gonna make my husband scream.” Toge bit his lip to keep from making a noise right there on the street. He pulled away from Choso and tugged his hand, restarting their trek to the hotel, all the more eager to get back.

At noon, Toge pulled on his swim trunks, a t-shirt, his flip flops, and left his room. He walked through the doors to the pool and glanced around the area. He spotted Choso sitting on a lounge chair outside of a cabana and made his way over there. Choso was holding SteamDeck, seeming heavily engrossed in the device in front of him as Toge approached. Toge couldn’t see anyone else around yet, it appeared he and Choso were the first to arrive. Choso looked up as he drew near and smiled. “Hey, Toge,” he greeted. “It’s just us right now.” Toge nodded as he sat on the nearest lounge chair. “How was sightseeing?” “It was good, thank you for asking. I went to see the Hoover Dam. It was impressive. What did you end up doing?” “Gaming and sleeping.” “Play anything good?” “I’ve been replaying Breath of the Wild.” Choso nodded. “I’ve never gotten into the Zelda games, but I heard Breath of the Wild was awesome. I should check it out.” “What were you playing?” “I’m testing that open-world RPG game that Mei Mei’s team has been working on. She asked me for a favor so I thought I could do it in my free time this weekend.” Toge’s eyebrows leapt up in interest. He’d been hearing a lot about that game. According to the last staff meeting, it should be launching in the next year. “Do you want to see?” Choso asked, noticing Toge’s interest. “Absolutely!” “Pull your chair closer.” He angled his SteamDeck so Toge could watch him play. He shared everything he knew about the game and things he’d discovered through playing. “The transitions and loading screens are so well done.” “Yeah, Mei Mei was heavily involved in the scripting. She really had a vision for this one.” “I can’t wait for the release, this game is going to be huge.” Choso nodded enthusiastically. “Marketing has been hitting hard with advertising. There’s a lot of hype for this one. She’s hoping for a big, fat bonus if it’s successful.”

“You’re dismissed.” Yuuta turned on his heel and walked quickly out of the room, digging his phone out of his pocket as he went. As soon as he was out of the building he dialed Gojo’s number. “Yuuta! What can I do for you?” “Where are you right now?” “Jeeze, you never call just to chat.” “Gojo, please,” Yuuta huffed. “I’m on my way to the classroom. I have a class to teach.” Yuuta hung up without another word and teleported to Gojo’s classroom. The current first years were sitting at their desks waiting and one of the girls shrieked in surprise when he appeared. Before he could apologize, Gojo pushed the door open. “Seriously?” He asked Yuuta. “I need to talk to you.” He could feel Gojo’s eyes on him, assessing him, reading him with Six Eyes through the blindfold. “This oughta be good.” He grinned. He turned toward his students. “Head down to the training grounds. I’m sure someone is there. Work on hand-to-hand combat today.”
