Back at urgent care (second time this week!) cause of post-op bleeding from hysterectomy. Got to go in a CT scan for the first time. Big xray donut—neat!

Finally home from hysto surgery after 13 hours at the hospital 🥲 I feel like dogshit but the surgery went well and I’m excited to be pain-free sooooon!

Grinning quite proudly (and joyfully!) at this CBC Books recent mention! A feature that thrilled my parents but not as much as meeee!

In London for a couple days. Got to see HADESTOWN with Len this evening and it was fun! I love an Underground Railroad setting.

Very sad I couldn’t be at Readercon this weekend *but* am consoled by the fact that Len and I got to visit the most delightful museum of Gilded Age fairgrounds in Paris & we got to ride the last Velocipede carousel in the world (human powered bike carousel) from 1897!!!

When my name was called for a Stoker Award I felt like my heart was going to burst. I wanted so badly to share the moment with Len but for anxieties on crossing the border as a trans couple, I travelled alone. The next best thing to being at the ceremony together was coming home to this surprise 🥹

I WON A BRAM STOKER AWARD
FOR COUP DE GRÂCE!!!

TRULY OVERJOYED!!! Thank you so much to the @horrorwritersassoc.bsky.social and to @titanbooks.bsky.social for championing this dark experimental book about a man who finds hope and choice in the depths of despair. I’m so honoured.

I’m about to become unshutuppable about this, so before a vaudeville hooked cane drags me off stage, I wanted to say that I’m so proud of our anthology contributors. Huge congrats to us all and my fellow nominees. Honoured to have work on these lists and alongside Shirley Jackson’s name.

I first read The Haunting of Hill House when I was 27, a richly complex blessing of a book that moved me on a soul level so sincerely that I made a necklace (Her Cup of Stars) inspired by it. It’s a beautiful feeling to have things come full circle—I am now a Shirley Jackson Award nominee.

My StokerCon 2025 Schedule! 😎

I'll be at 3 panels this year, an author reading, the mass author signing, aaaand the Stoker award ceremony rooting for everyone like a pageant mum.
Are you attending? If you see me, PLEASE COME SAY HI!! I'm friendly and I love chatting with fellow horror fans!

Found him! I think he was a bee, not a wasp? In any case, I caught him in a cup and freed him outside!

Imagine John Cena's entrance theme playing so you don't /actually/ have to hear it attached to this post.
