Goin' Crazy What else is there to do in the midst of so many wars? I went crazy and when I returned I saw how much work is needed Therefore I train my heart to see The river going the other way The sky holding so many miracles The city walls crumbling by wind, by cloud, by pigeon wing and coo That the only true direction is in song and dance and tears The solitude of reckoning An awakening towards merciful means That we become what we desire That we are one another’s magnitude and bond and to triumph beyond the cruelty of the times is sometimes the most quiet and private work of all Daniel Samir Cyran

LUXURY i suppose living in a materialistic society luxury to some would be having more than you need living in an electronic age seeing the whole world by pushing a button the nth degree might perhaps be adequately represented by having someone there to push the buttons for you i have thought if only i could become rich and famous i would live luxuriously in new york knowing famous people eating in expensive restaurants calling long distance anytime i want but you held me one evening and now i know the ultimate luxury of your love

ROCK ME, MERCY The river stones are listening because we have something to say. The trees lean closer today. The singing in the electrical woods has gone dumb. It looks like rain because it is too warm to snow. Guardian angels, wherever you’re hiding, we know you can’t be everywhere at once. Have you corralled all the pretty wild horses? The memory of ants asleep in daylilies, roses, holly, & larkspur. The magpies gaze at us, still waiting. River stones are listening. But all we can say now is, Mercy, please, rock me.
