Huge thanks to the GIWA committee, the jury, my fellow candidates whose presence made this award even more special, my teachers, colleagues, amazing students, my supportive husband and my family. #design #architecture #GreekWomen

I was in great company, among inspirational and remarkable women from 15 categories, researchers, artists, scientists, neurosurgeons and many others who fight cancer, aging, climate change in Greece and different parts of the world.

The institution of GIWA honours Greek women who with their strength, creativity, excellence and vision are internationally recognised lighting the path for the next generation.

My third and final blog will consider the indispensible role of architects in responding to today’s housing needs. Thanks to architectural historian William J. R. Curtis for referring me to his account of Darnbourne and Darke’s Lillington Gardens in his book Modern Architecture!

These will inform investigations in the ‘Design Research Methodologies’ and ‘Design Practice’ modules in the Masters for Architecture and Urban Historic Environments (MAHUE) at the Bartlett School of Architecture this year.
