What are the ‘social dimensions’ of moving species for conservation and why does engaging with them matter?

This is the focus of our new paper doi.org/10.1016/j.tr... on the cover of the Dec issue of TREE @cp-trendsecolevo.bsky.social led by @aisrayne.bsky.social

For what it's worth, Belgium closes in August. Like don't bother, go on holiday, assume that you won't get things done.
In fact, it gets pretty quiet after Belgian national day on July 21st (colloquially called "La drache nationale" or the national downpour, because it so often rains)

If I had the brain space and time, I would investigate what re-wilding means in Aotearoa as opposed to elsewhere, both what it means to people who use the term and how its concepts (because they are there) work in these ecosystems.

This afternoon was a visit to a bike shop to try out an e-trike, helped by the kindest, most helpful chap. This was followed by bubble tea for the younger member of staff and ice-cream for friend and I as we caught up with life.

Message from colleague “ when you are in the office next week, will you sing with me in the bat cave” and I could give you context but it’s much funnier if I don’t.
Of course I said yes.

Colleague “????”

I don’t do street names, I love reading plaques and spent the walk to work writing a modern sermon on sin and cheapness. Cos we need one.

Oh yes! Very much.
The most maddening thing about this is that restoring inanga spawning habitat is really easy. Like, the easiest, fastest results I've seen in any project. We've got to stop monitoring towards extinction and actually start spending money on fixing the problems! www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

The house this morning smells of jasmine and elderflower (both wafting in from the neighbour’s gardens) with a tang of sea salt wafting in from the harbour.
It’s a great mixture and perfumers would do well to get down here to sniff
