Time to spend in the garden today. The tomato plants need clearing away, as do the cucumbers. And I need to empty the ready contents of a composter over a raised bed. But first, tea!

Thank you for this. As someone trying to establish wildflowers in a shady area it's good to understand what plants to plan for.

Thank you. It worked out well 😀

This pandering to R£form mouth peices is making my blood boil.

Well said 👏

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

Nor how many people will turn 18 by then and are also already feeling disenfranchised (and possibly their parents too).

Give people access to better childcare so working is easier, access to better transport so not having a car isn't a barrier to better paid work, work on communities and fund them to support each other. Instead, we get pandering to flags and ID cards as some kind of solution to the R£form disaster.

Why aren't the Govt in power right now going hell for leather to create policies (with meaningful outcomes) that help low and no paid workers, carers and others some of whom seem to blame nothing else immigration when we know there are wider factors at play.

I genuinely don't get it, but want to understand. If R£form are on target to win the next election (the thought is giving me nightmares), why doesn't Labour look to help/ support those who are hell bent on voting the other way? Wouldn't expanding child care options be better than pursuing ID cards?

Ok. They’ve pissed me off.

I’m back to tell you 3 things about ID cards:

1. Migrants ALREADY HAVE biometric ID cards & govts have been trying to digitise them for years w repeated fuckups & failures causing complete chaos - they don’t work, you do not want that system for you.

The veg garden is slowing down now and getting tucked away for winter. #gardening

“In coming to know more, the way we see the entire world can change.”

It’s all about a gradual change of perspective, one where we do not simply dream of ‘getting back’ to a Nature we’ve lost, but notice that Nature is here with us and that, crucially, we are that #Nature too...

The pinkies are here. Welcome back to my distinctive flying friends. Autumn has arrived on the Humber.

Nice little walk around my patch this morning. I heard a curlew and finally identified a bird call. It was a cetti's warbler.

Are there any studies or guides about planting trees in high-risk flood areas? In particular, those at risk from tidal water surges. #environment #floods #trees

You are so right! I'll follow that up after work 🤣

Some days, only a bowl of olives stuffed with jalapeños will do. #lunch #food
