Old but savvy. Hardcore Dem. Dual professional: law and nursing. Esoteric & eclectic to the extreme. Mother of Dogs. Immigrant, since you can't get your shit together up there. NO FUCKING CHATS. OTO, and IYKYK. Happy beats everything, so yay I win!
You know what? When a man /asks/ if you can start a DM, I have enormous respect for him. No, I'm not into trying to find new friends here; I can't keep up with the ones I already have in real life. But I gotta say - that is mad respect. And I'm flattered. Girls, they DO exist.

This avid feeder was in my yard today; looks like a white with blue swallowtail, but I've never seen this butterfly before. Anyone got a clue? Taken in central Costa Rica.

So here's a truly first world complaint: why has Hollywood decided that nearly all action sequences should be shot so damn dark you can't tell what's happening? I get accommodating CGI and etc, but it's stupid to not know what occurred until the lights come up. Shit, I do that every morning.

The USA is losing its superpower status. That may be a good thing; it depends on whether '3rd world' countries can form strategic alliances to prevent Chinese taking over.

How much corruption will it take for people to push back against kleptocracy? I'm not holding my breath, but if the POTUS can say "impose a tariff" and it happens, that indicates that there aren't any real constraints on this admin. Guess there has to be even more pain before the tides turn.

Some days I'm convinced we are all living in purgatory. It makes no sense that so many human beings are subjugated to such miserable conditions, just so a tiny handful of people can be rich beyond reason. People should have control over what they need to live, and they don't, so is this hell?

I am dog sitting a puppy, with my existing pack of five rescues, and their dynamics are fascinating. Dogs growl and back off. Humans? We show teeth and escalate. Maybe the next round of civilization can be dog based, since we humans haven't figured out basic social interaction. Or we forgot it.

When I think of what could be done with the cash currently hoarded by billionaires, I get choked up. Money is an abstraction of value, either from control of resources, like land, or from the labor of working people. When that wealth circulates in the general economy, average folk benefit.

When the world accommodates the weakest, the strongest are also protected. Strong policies that uplift everyone carries benefits throughout society. Do you want to be rich and isolated from a suffering population, or be a bit less rich and part of a thriving country that is happy to include you?

Can we please elect more Mamdanis? More young people with a future they want to fight for, and share with their peers? I get age and wisdom, but let the elders be advisors. The folks who need things to happen so they can see their grandkids should be in charge. Vote young, blue, and often.

Russia gets the fuck out of the country. Returns stolen children. Pays reparations. Apologizes.
Russia Getting the Fuck Out of Ukraine is the /baseline/ for negotiation. Because if historical control was the reason for the war, then the USA should give the country back to Native Americans, and etc.

The war on Gaza continues. There is no ceasefire. Nothing has changed. I don't care if Hamas still exists, killing noncombatants is genocide. Full stop - Killing Innocent People en masse is Genocide. I hope karma speeds up in time to save some Palestinians. They don't deserve this.

Dumbass fascism. They pushed too hard, fast, and incompetently. The billionaires are gonna find out it's easy to buy a gov't but way harder to buy a population which is smarter than they thought. Plus they choose a nakedly avaricious moron as their figurehead.
BOYCOTT. Tick tock, you rich idiots.

I am very thankful to be alive. For the past twelve or so years I've lived with a loaded gun pointed at my chest. Close calls, oh yeah. But I'm alive, I live in a great country, my volunteering is effective, and our immigrant community kicks ass. I'm lucky and grateful. May all beings be blessed.

Watching Mr Mercedes. Damn, I am so tired of sexual relationships between people with a big age gap. Screwing an old man is not easy. Most of them need so much fluffing that by the time you get to tab A in slot B you're bored, exhausted, or ready to do it yourself. Experience talking here.

I am amazed at the stupidity of the mega rich. They are willing to destroy the very system that allowed them to become billionaires. Maybe that class needs to be told the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg story a hundred times over.
November 26, 2025 at 6:13 PM
TAX the rich - recognize that the ability to manipulate the system to extract maximum wealth is not the same as producing value. Billionaires should be satisfied with being rich in a rich country, instead of being cancerously rich in a poor country.

Want to live in a world full of sick, unhappy, poor people? Keep giving money to the people who don't care if you die, have peace, or can pay your bills. TAX the rich - recognize that the ability to extract wealth is not the same as producing value.

When you use cash, the banks aren't using your money. Banks float your deposited money all over the place, and they charge interest when people use it on credit. You don't get interest for keeping a positive balance, so take out bills.
Use cash, it stays in the local economy.
November 25, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Cash is hard to track. Inaction is not monitored.
Nov 26th to Dec 3rd, BUY NOTHING. USE CASH.
Don't stream or buy any media. Avoid posting if you can; some cannot for biz or family reasons.
Prove to them that they need our $ more than we need their greedy BS. BOYCOTT.
I'm on a list, I don't care.
November 25, 2025 at 2:31 AM
PSA. BUY NOTHING Nov 26th to Dec 3rd. If you must buy, purchase from local small businesses.
Use cash. Your $ at the corner store for gum goes towards buying the kids' shoes, then paying a worker, then out into the 'hood. Credit goes to the BK and they charge the local biz.
STARVE THE BEAST.

Does anybody know what "the medical model" of disability is? I'm too pissed off to go do research right now. All I know is that people are people, with unique problems that need to be addressed in varying contexts. Apparently that is somehow...bad for disabled people?

So Zucker has a new algorithm that flags...I'm not sure. They were gonna down my account in 180 days if I don't let them take facial recognition data. Which I did, with some bug eyes thrown in for shits and giggles. The Powers That Be want a central database with everything but our DNA in it.
WHY???
November 18, 2025 at 11:04 PM
I am a charitable person, but I only help people and organizations that I have a personal relationship with - a local orphanage, e.g. I would rather give $20 to a homeless person standing right in front of me than to Goodwill, which spends most of its money on administrative costs and CEO salary.
