Fun fact, I was at a seminar last year where the instructor actually had a book published but because printing costs got so high during covid she made a deal with her publisher to print a softcover version with a different cover and a new name so she could still sell it at seminars. (I bought it.)

Honestly feels heinous to steal from authors, especially when the book is still in circulation. And in modern times if there's no copy available you could just contact the author and ask if they sell it somewhere at all? Or if they could sell a pdf?? Or maybe they're just nice and give it to you.
