Happy book birthday @richardchizmar.bsky.social . Just in time for spooky season. I haven't even started it yet, but I know it should be in everyone's tbr right now.

@claymcleod.bsky.social nails it again. A story of grief and loss, that, while out there, feels all too real. Whether it's losing a child, love of your life, or your mind, you feel the rawness, realness, and fears contained within. As a father, this one just hits differently.

I love book mail! 2 insta-buy authors dropping books on the same day is always exciting. Can't wait to dive in. @ericlarocca.bsky.social @claymcleod.bsky.social I will let you all know what I think when I take them in.

Just finished this one by @chuckwendig.bsky.social . Such a fun and unique ride. Staircases in the middle of nowhere. Haunted house where the rooms never stay the same. If you like feeling claustrophobic with a heaping side of anxiety, this needs to be your next read.

I am still reeling from the ending of this book. It is so sad and crushing, but also beautiful. I don't know how to feel just yet. What a great debut novel from @authorallisongunn.bsky.social

@blacktopkid.bsky.social nails it again! I cannot speak highly enough of his works. This one tears at you, tears at you some more, and then tears at you even more. Families. Kingdoms. It doesn't matter. #everythingburns

Wife and kid took me to a nice indie bookstore for Father's Day. @blacktopkid.bsky.social I felt bad about not doing a preorder, but finding this copy in the middle of Iowa felt like a sign. @claymcleod.bsky.social I can't wait to dive in to a full length after reading a couple of your shorter ones.

I share these exact sentiments

@claymcleod.bsky.social This had me hooked from the first paragraph. I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. Dark, painful, sad, and relatable. Everything about this clicked with me. Thank you for such a captivating story.

I finished Brother yesterday, but had to sit on it for a day. When you get to that last quarter of the book, and all of the realizations hit, time stands still. It's not just a gut punch...the fist goes all the way through. I loved it!

I would love to be a fly on that wall

A little behind getting around to talking about this one. @catrionaward.bsky.social is an insta-buy author for me, and it's because of books like this. Very twisty, and it leaves no good stopping points for you to put it down. My favorite Ward read since Last House on Needless Street

Just wrapped this one up tonight. @simonestjames.bsky.social does it again! A nice crime thriller, sprinkled with some supernatural twists, that had me hooked from beginning to end. Moms are always watching.

We hope so too! Keep up the great work. We're enjoying it.

It was the perfect follow up for Jade. Nailed it!

That's what got me. I loved the way SGJ examined the slasher and added a myth to their creation. A very unique take that was well executed.

@sgj.bsky.social what did you do to me? I'm not supposed to cry reading a slasher. A great story and tragically beautiful ending. Jade would be proud. I personally loved the twist with how Tolly became a slasher. A creative flip to the genre.

@gabino.bsky.social I just finished this on Wednesday. I needed a recovery day. I LOVE your writing voice. It's like sitting next to you, and hearing you casually tell a story. This one was not casual. It felt dark, personal, and raw. Thank you so much for this story.
