The USCG is, by definition and charter, a law enforcement and interdiction service during peacetime. As such, it has legal authority under international law to stop vessels in our territorial waters if there is reasonable belief the vessel has violated U.S. law.

All he is encouraging is for people who have nothing left to lose to enact "justice" by non-legal means.

Some states (not all) participate in a Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) which allow a narrow group of SNAP recipients (usually elderly, disabled or unhoused) to use their benefit at participating restaurants. But it's not a free-for-all like Ernst alludes.

Nope. I stopped extending that charity after the 10th or 15th "this is what I voted for" when ICE smashed someone's window or fired pepper balls at members of the clergy.
