Thursday 1.15 Newmarket just 6 run so only 2 places on offer. Clive Cox is 1-1 so far with his 2yo's so This Guy makes some appeal at 15/2 Bet365 EW although there are a cpl of others in there too!

Kilfrush Desert could be the value ew in the 13.40 2yo novice at Beverley as Kevin Ryan's 2yo going ok 11/1 coral. Ali Shuffle might be difficult to beat from the rail draw though having won FTO and Karl Burke's 2yo in great form.

16.10 Newmarket Tuesday 2yo maiden fillies. Could be worth chancing Hugo Palmer's Ruby's Angel. Stable won the race last year. Timeform on breeding think she has the most potential & Hugo has had a win and a 3rd from his two 2yo's to run so far. 9/1 Bet365 EW.

The Scottish National was a brutal race today and looks as though it needs to come under some sort of review as it didn't make good viewing in my opinion.

Given the changes to the Grand National over the years is it time to have a limit as to the age at which a horse can compete in the race. It now seems highly unlikely that a horse aged 13 + could win a Grand National.

A topical runner today, if you like that sort of thing, is Mum's Angel 15.05 Doncaster. A half brother to Kerdos he will be winning at some point if not today.

ABATE 18.00 Doncaster is off a 13lb lower mark than he started off last season. That was in a C2 over 6f at Newmarket where he weakened in the final 100 yards & today is a C5. Nicholls junior claims a handy 7lb. Going off fast in front is his "A" game so hopefully he can maintain it to the end today

First day of the flat tomorrow! I love the jumps but it's good to have the flat back! Looking forward to coming up with some sprint selections on here and been reviewing the form. Will be keeping an eye on the 2yo's too!
