I'm Sister Hellen Wheels, Acting Superior Mother of the Daughters of the Divine Eruption and senior member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. I began serving the LGBT+ community as a priest and nun in 1988.
With The Sisters' 45 right around the corner, I'm posting some of the early Easter celebrations. This one is from the 20th, 1999 when I was Novice Mistress. We were using a bank as our green room.

I'm going post at least one picture from the San Francisco House's anniversary per week till Easter. This one is from the 15th, Easter 1994, the first time we celebrated our anniversary in public. Yes, I was a Little Blue Nun for the event. Well, "littler".

Does anyone know someone who bought the newest political-clown shoes?

An old scan from 1991 or 2. I think we were passing out Safer Sex pamphlets. I was still Fr Butch and it was the first time I wore whiteface as a member. GladAss & I, Jackie & Hazel would get married a few months later; in habits!
L-R T-B: Dana, Nov Jackie, Nov GladAss, Mystie, Fr Butch, Fr Hazel.

For the 6th time out of the last 8 elections, I have not gotten my mail in ballot. This issue ONLY happens with ballots, not any other mail. My suspicious mind is coming to the conclusion that someone at the post office is intentionally trying to prevent me from voting.

SISTORY TIME:
Apologies in advance for the low quality; I don't have current prints of these. They were at Sr. Risque's novice project; a PSA on Safer Sex back in 1997?. The Sisters did the short vid with videographers from SF State. Note: I'm wearing an original style SF wimple. Very uncomfortable!

I've been trying to persuade the Abbess (Sr Pansies) of the SF House to switch from Roberts Rules to The American Institute of Parliamentarians' rules. I was even going to lend her the copy that I'd just purchased. Well, here's what Sister Penny brought to the board retreat. Great minds, etc etc.

I tried "nuns with deer". This site is making me seriously laugh!

This was the second image I had generated. Not as precise, but still fun.

I was listening to a Mammas & the Pappas mix this morning when my dyslexia kicked in. I'd just glanced at an article about Google's new AI generator. So, I present to you...

Been really busy this week, but finally posting the results of the homemade white face on Saturday. It was still a little hard, but the coverage was good. Admittedly, not as neat as I'd have liked, but it's hard getting made up in somenun's dark kitchen with only a 40w light and a handheld mirror!

Finding little treasures like this is part of the reason I still live in SF.

Success! I re-melted the original batch and added some more Shea butter and some cosmetic grade sweet almonds oil. Now I have some organic grade mineral white face for everyday wear. I'll debut it Saturday at the costume contest

Well, the white face excitement was almost a success. Once cooked the foundation was too solid. I had to scrape it with a spoon to apply it. It is at least close, so I'll try again.

I mixed up my own white-face foundation this afternoon using cosmetic grade zinc oxide powder. I've been meaning to do this for years! It still need to cool, so I'll try it on my face tomorrow before I shower. Wish me luck!

Yesterday, I was invited along with Sr Merry Peter, Diana Fyre, and Simon from Friends of Dorthy Ministry to speak at the Drag & Spirituality Summit at the Unitarian Universalist Church. It was a very moving session! I realized this was my 1st manifestation with white-face since before Covid.

I also found this wild veil material while out looking for a replacement screw for a chair. Yes, I'm easily distracted.

Found these buttons at the fabric store yesterday. I'm going to try making them into veil pins.

I went on a little adventure with Sister Pansies and Reverend Diana Wheeler. We road the new Central Subway to Chinatown. Then, brunch was at Hang Ha, the first Dim Sum house in the USA. Did some shopping and had a Chinese Mai Tai at the Li Po Lounge. All in all, a good day out!

Just ran across these pictures on an old drive I was archiving. This is from a 2019 shoot I did with Sr Sybil LiberTease and Sr. Diana Fyre (formerly Agnes Dei Afta Tomara.) We had such a great time!

A friend thought I'd like these despair coffee cups. I just had to make a minor modification.

One of the other things I did over the weekend, was visit an honest to goodness haberdashery! The Hattery of Sonoma County is a great shop just off the 12. The woman that owns it, makes straw and felt. You can custom order a hat to match your outfit.

I spent the long weekend in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. The Mendocino Botanical Garden near Fort Bragg had begonias and dahlias in full bloom. I love taking pictures of these blooms!

A little Sistory. This images is from "Nuns' Night Out"; a Sister-Social in 1999 where we had no agenda other than to have fun as a group. It includes visiting Sisters from France. The pic was taken in the Pope Room at Bucca de Beppo. After dinner, we went bar-hopping; ending up at the Eagle.

Sr. Fanny sent me this image last night. I immediately recognized the film and could even paraphrase her lines. Movies don't have to be gory to be scary. This frightened the bejebus out of me as a kid! It's still a favorite in the genre of psychological horror.
