I mean, I'll give it this, it's honestly a decent steelbook design for once. Makes me even more annoyed at how ugly the Sonic 3 one is.

Overall, I liked it, but this one really suffers from being a wacky family film the most out of the series so far. I hope the next one can really work on that. The old cast is still great, Keanu is a great addition, and the credits scene got me excited for what's to come. Hope it comes out great.

Even when (SPOILERS) Gerald is set to destroy the world. They're having a mechanical slap fight instead of really letting this be the thing that lets things get serious. Maybe more runtime could have added more somber and serious moments, because the film excelled when it got to them.

It reminds me far too much of Thor Love And Thunder, in which a serious talk about mortality is constantly undermined by Valkyrie and Korg riffing. 2 did a much better job balancing by having Eggman and Knuckles as the snarky one and the straight man. Now it's just two goofy guys being wacky.

I think my biggest problem is Gerald, or at least he's the most emblematic of the problem. He's way too goofy for way too much of the runtime, and even when stuff gets serious, it's only temporary before he starts being a slapstick character again.
