not here to defend character, Ive just find it odd how hard it is for ppl to get how a tag made for a specific medium getting flooded w something else would be irksome. Most art challenges arent medium specific, & choosing a tag like artober instead wouldn't've been hard. All in the past now tho.

He himself is a digital artist. Celebrating or making a special event for something doesnt mean you think its superior to other things. Imagine crashing someone's birthday party and being like "but what about ME??"

He made an event to celebrate & promote the medium of pen & ink at a time where digital art was taking over everything and had become the new industry standard. Then the community hijacked it and flooded the tag w digital work. He and others were (understandably imo) a little upset by this.

Of course that an event meant to celebrate analog art specially ink and fountain pens having actual ink and fountain pen art be hidden under art not made in those mediums, and overwhelmingly by digital art was going to rub people (by far not only Jake Parker voiced his dislike) the wrong way.
